Changes to LockVue Authentication

We have some exciting news to share! We have been working hard behind the scenes to bring a new Authentication system to LockVue. With the new system we deliver a more robust and secure authentication system that provides important updates such as the ability to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and universal login experience.
What’s changing?
New Login experience - The login and registration pages will look different and now follow the OAuth2.0 standard that all the leading platforms use
New account management - You can now change your password after logging in to the LockVue web portal
Multi-Factor authentication(MFA) - You will be able to set up multi-factor authentication on your login with a choice of using an authenticator app or an email code based authentication
Nothing! That's right. Your existing username and passwords will work with the new system. If you have not set a Company name then a screen might be presented asking you to fill this in.
If you have an IT team or a corporate firewall you may need to ask them to whitelist some new URLs. We will provide the necessary information in another email.
This change is being implemented as part of a wider overhaul of our authentication system to enhance security and streamline the authentication process for all our users. In addition we’re also migrating to using API keys for any integration partners. This approach offers several benefits, including;
Improved security
Better monitoring
Easier management for Admin users. API keys can be restricted to only allow access to some APIs or deleted right from within the LockVue web portal.
We are working on the transition date but at this stage we expect to go live late November 2024.
Update: Go live date is set as 2nd December 2024
